Story
Collio, the region in the far north-east of Friuli Venezia Giulia, is characterized by its landscape of rolling hills, charming villages and vineyards as far as the eye can see. Here, mountains and sea, east and west, southern and central Europe mix with all their cultural characteristics.
Venetians, Romans and Lombards have left their traces everywhere and so a journey through the villages and small towns of the hill country becomes a journey through times and epochs long gone, and for many centuries the area belonged to the Habsburg Empire. Nowhere else had German, Italian and Slovenian-speaking people lived together in harmony and peace for centuries.
